About Nagarjuna Besha:
According to temple tradition, this besha commemorates the victory of Parashurama over the powerful king Sahasrarjuna (Kartavirya Arjuna). To symbolize this warrior victory, Jagannath and Balabhadra are dressed as divine warriors and adorned with golden weapons such as bow, arrows, chakra, plough, and mace.
