Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Jagannath Tulsi Seva, we understand that circumstances may change. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancellations and refunds of booked seva services.

Important: Please read this policy carefully before making a booking.

1. Refund Eligibility

Refunds are applicable only under the following conditions:

  • Timely Cancellation: Request made within the eligible cancellation period
  • Service Not Started: Seva has not commenced on the scheduled start date
  • Valid Booking: You have a confirmed booking with valid Order ID
  • Payment Verified: Payment has been successfully processed
  • Service Failure: We are unable to provide the booked service (force majeure)

2. Cancellation Timeline & Refund Amount

Refund amount depends on when you cancel your booking relative to the seva start date:

Important Notes:
  • Timeline is calculated from the scheduled seva START date, not booking date
  • Processing fee covers administrative and payment gateway charges
  • Festival and special occasion bookings may have stricter policies
  • Partial cancellations are not allowed for fixed packages

3. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will NOT be provided in the following cases:

  • Late Cancellation: Cancellation made less than 3 days before seva start date
  • After Commencement: Seva has already started or been performed
  • No-Show: You failed to cancel and seva was performed as scheduled
  • False Information: Booking made with incorrect or fraudulent information
  • Terms Violation: Violation of our Terms & Conditions or policies
  • Special Bookings: Festival dates, special occasions (unless specified otherwise)
  • Prasad Delivered: If prasad has already been dispatched or received
  • Partial Service: If part of multi-day seva has been completed

4. How to Request Cancellation

To cancel your booking and request a refund:

  1. Contact Us: Email us at tulsiseva@jagannath.org OR call 06370599093
  2. Provide Details: Include your Order ID, booking details, and reason for cancellation
  3. Submit Request: Clearly state "CANCELLATION REQUEST" in subject line
  4. Wait for Confirmation: We will verify your booking and eligibility
  5. Receive Acknowledgment: Confirmation email will be sent within 24-48 hours
  6. Refund Processing: Eligible refund will be initiated as per timeline
Required Information for Cancellation
  • Order ID (mandatory)
  • Registered email address
  • Registered phone number
  • Booking date and seva start date
  • Reason for cancellation (optional but helpful)
  • Bank account details for refund (if different from original payment method)

5. Refund Processing Timeline

Once your cancellation is approved, refund will be processed as follows:

5.1 Processing Time
  • Verification: 24-48 hours to verify and approve cancellation
  • Refund Initiation: 3-5 working days after approval
  • Bank Credit: 7-10 working days from initiation
  • Total Time: Typically 10-15 working days from cancellation request
5.2 Refund Method
  • Same Payment Source: Refund will be credited to the original payment method
  • Credit/Debit Card: Direct credit to the card used for payment
  • UPI/Wallet: Credit to the same UPI ID or wallet
  • Net Banking: Credit to the bank account used
  • Alternative Method: Bank transfer if original method is unavailable (requires account details)
Bank Processing Time: The time taken for refund to reflect in your account depends on your bank's processing time. This is beyond our control. Please contact your bank if refund is not received within the specified timeline.

6. Tracking Refund Status

You can track your refund status by:

  • Email Updates: Automatic status updates sent to registered email
  • Contact Support: Email or call us with your Order ID
  • Refund Reference Number: We will provide a refund reference number for tracking
  • Bank Statement: Check your bank statement for credit entry

7. Modification Instead of Cancellation

Instead of cancelling, you may consider modifying your booking:

7.1 What Can Be Modified
  • Start Date: Change seva start date (subject to availability)
  • Personal Details: Update name, contact information
  • Seva Person Name: Change beneficiary name
  • Gotra: Correct gotra information
7.2 What Cannot Be Modified
  • Flower type/selection after confirmation
  • Seva duration/package after seva starts
  • Price after booking confirmation

Modification Fee: Date changes requested less than 48 hours before start date may incur a nominal modification fee.

8. Force Majeure & Service Interruptions

If we are unable to provide your booked service due to circumstances beyond our control:

8.1 Eligible Situations
  • Natural disasters (floods, earthquakes, cyclones)
  • Temple closure by government authorities
  • Pandemics or public health emergencies
  • Civil unrest or government-imposed restrictions
  • Acts of God or extreme weather conditions
8.2 Resolution Options
  • Option 1: Reschedule seva to the earliest available date
  • Option 2: Full refund (100%) to original payment method
  • Option 3: Service extension to compensate for missed days

9. Refunds for Failed or Duplicate Transactions

9.1 Payment Failed but Amount Debited
  • Auto-Reversal: Amount will be automatically reversed within 5-7 business days
  • No Action Needed: You don't need to do anything; reversal is automatic
  • Contact Bank: If not reversed within 7 days, contact your bank first
  • Then Contact Us: If issue persists, contact us with transaction details
9.2 Duplicate Charges
  • Immediate Refund: Duplicate charge will be refunded in full (100%)
  • No Processing Fee: No deduction for duplicate transaction refunds
  • Fast Track: Processed within 7 working days
  • Proof Required: Bank statement showing duplicate debit

10. Refund Exceptions & Special Cases

  • Promotional Bookings: Special offers may have different refund terms (clearly stated at booking)
  • Festival Bookings: Major festival dates typically non-refundable (specified during booking)
  • Group Bookings: Multiple booking cancellations may have different terms
  • Corporate Bookings: Bulk bookings may have customized refund policies

12. Changes to Refund Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Existing bookings will remain subject to the policy in effect at the time of booking.
